Why UFAZ?

The initiative to establish the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) was launched in 2014 by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and France. The university officially began its academic activities in September 2016. The main mission of the UFAZ project is to build a bridge between the education systems of Azerbaijan and France, align Azerbaijani higher education with international standards, implement a practice- and research-oriented teaching model, and train bilingual specialists for the research and industrial sectors.

Offering education at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral (joint program) levels, the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) provides students with the following opportunities:

With its highly qualified academic staff and invited international professors, UFAZ aims to achieve one of the highest standards of academic excellence not only in Azerbaijan but also in the region. Courses are delivered in English by experienced faculty members from Azerbaijan and France. As part of the curriculum, students also study French, which creates opportunities to continue their master’s education in France.

Graduates of secondary schools in Azerbaijan with excellent academic performance, as well as individuals who have completed secondary education abroad, are considered potential applicants to UFAZ. Candidates must achieve high results in the examinations administered by the State Examination Center (SEC). Both local and international applicants are required to have strong English language proficiency and successfully pass the exams organized in Baku by the University of Strasbourg.

International students may also apply to UFAZ on a fee-paying basis.
