14 UFAZ Students Awarded in Azerbaijan Engineering Challenge
14 students from the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) have been awarded in the Azerbaijan Engineering Challenge, jointly organized by Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Elsevier. Among the participants, the highest result was achieved by Pavel Kuznetsov, a student of the Computer Science program at UFAZ.
The award ceremony for the winners was held on May 4 at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Speaking at the event, Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, highlighted the role of digital scientific resources in modern education. He noted that such platforms play a crucial role in developing students’ knowledge and skills. He also emphasized that these competitions not only improve students’ ability to use international scientific databases, but also positively contribute to their future professional careers.
Associate Professor Elviz Ismayilov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Affairs, provided detailed information about the competition. He stated that more than 160 students from 16 universities across the country participated in the contest, completing engineering-related tasks using scientific platforms to test their knowledge.
Later, Umit Yontar, Sales Director of Informascope, spoke about the importance of such initiatives. He emphasized that expanding access to international scientific resources helps students strengthen their global competitiveness.
The competition, held from April 20 to May 1, aimed to enhance students’ skills in using the Knovel and Engineering Village platforms.
At the end of the ceremony, all winners were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
