Our Student Chapter was chosen the best student section of the year

From August 26 to September 1, the 3rd-year Oil and Gas Engineering students of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) - Javid Aliyev and Chingiz Askarli, are participating in the 2023 SEG/Chevron Student Leadership Symposium and International Meeting on Applied Geology and Energy (IMAGE), hosted by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), in Houston, USA.

Two students selected from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and UFAZ are representing Azerbaijan among 24 countries. Award ceremony regarding the end of year took place on August 30. The American Society of Exploration Geophysicists awarded the Society of Exploration Geophysicists of our students (SEG ASOIU Student Chapter) as the best student chapter of the year for 2022-2023. ASOIU/UFAZ Student Chapter was selected among 340 SEG student chapters from 66 countries and received this prestigious award.

To recall, C. Aliyev, as the project leader and creator of the first international geophysical field camp in the Caucasus region (SEG ASOIU Field Camp 2023) dedicated to "Study of Geophysical Image of Groundwater in Talysh Mountains" and SEG "Earthquake Awareness and Education Program in Schools", delivered a speech during the conference. He also delivered a presentation about various projects implemented by the student chapter of ASOIU/UFAZ throughout the year.
