Meeting and Info Session with Baker Hughes Representatives Held at UFAZ

On October 28, the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Engineers Union, held a meeting with representatives of Baker Hughes. The company was represented by Country Director Yanis Levzhinskiy, Regional Sales Manager Malik Israfilov, Aykhan Salmanov, ENSC, SSA & Türkiye Sales Leader for OFSE Digital “Leucipa”, HR Manager Nargiz Muradova, and Aygun Seyidova, Senior Project Advisor for Continental Europe & Caspian Geozone and Local Content Leader. UFAZ was represented by Martin Godon, UFAZ Secretary General, Jean-Marc Planeix, UFAZ Coordinator and Vice President of the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), and Ganira Nasibova, Career Center Coordinator.

Following the meeting, an information session was held for UFAZ students with the participation of Baker Hughes representatives. Experts from different areas of the company presented their work, technologies and services.

The session covered Baker Hughes’ global operations, strategy and activities in Azerbaijan, as well as its “The Energy Equation” concept and its focus on transformation, digitalisation and new energy.

Students also learned about the “LEAD Field Engineer Program”, which combines technical training with hands-on field experience for young engineers, and the career opportunities it offers.

The presentation on Oilfield Services & Equipment (OFSE) covered services and technologies used throughout the well lifecycle, from exploration to decommissioning. The speakers explained how drilling, cementing, well integrity solutions, artificial lift systems and energy consulting services help improve operational efficiency.

Other presentations focused on the company’s digital solutions, subsea systems, pipeline services and industrial equipment monitoring. Cybersecurity technologies and ways to improve the efficiency of production processes were also discussed.

The session included interactive activities, with specialists asking students questions related to their presentations. Students who provided correct and comprehensive answers received gifts. This format encouraged active participation and gave students an opportunity to test their knowledge of the company’s activities and technologies.
