Orientation Day for Master’s Students Held at UFAZ

The French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) hosted an Orientation Day event for newly admitted master’s students.
The event began with an opening speech by UFAZ’s Executive Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov. It was followed by welcoming remarks from the University’s Secretary General Martin Godon and the Manager of the “Geosciences” program Damien Lemarchand, who shared their advice regarding the academic process.
The Master’s Programs Coordinator, Gulara Abdunova, then provided detailed information about the offered specializations. She highlighted key aspects to help students better prepare for the new academic year, including academic documents, the organization and monitoring of exams, internship programs, disciplinary rules, as well as the academic calendar, exam schedule, grading scheme, and curriculum.
After the presentation, students’ questions were answered.
It should be noted that for the 2025-2026 academic year, 85 students have been admitted to UFAZ master’s programs. Of these, 40 will study Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, 25 will pursue Physical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, and 10 will specialize in Geosciences.
This year also marks the launch of a new program, Water Resources and Management. A total of 10 students have been admitted, each of whom has been awarded a scholarship from the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency.
We congratulate our newly admitted students and wish them success and a productive academic year ahead!
