Our Students Participated in the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum

Students of the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) participated in the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held in Baku on September 22-23. Organized by the Ministry of Economy and AZPROMO, the forum brought together government officials, international investors, and business leaders, serving as a platform for extensive discussions on the future of global trade, sustainable supply chains, and regional cooperation.

Within the framework of the forum, UFAZ students – Farida Orujova and Ismayil Yusifli, studying in the Computer Science program – presented their innovative ideas and attracted the attention of the international audience. Their startup, ‘Guardian-X’, is designed for Azerbaijani farmers, featuring a multilingual interface, an eco-friendly approach, and remote monitoring of pests to ensure crop protection. The system employs AI-supported smart detectors to identify pests on time, sends alerts via SMS and a mobile application, and provides an optimal action schedule to protect crops.

Currently, the ‘Guardian-X’ project is being tested in the field in the Khachmaz region, and the initial results have been positively received by farmers. The solution developed by the students contributes to increasing agricultural productivity and ensures the proper and environmentally sustainable use of pesticides.

Such initiatives give UFAZ students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the startup ecosystem and enhance their skills in digital and green transformation in agriculture. We wish them success in their future endeavors!
