Scientific Discussion on the Future of Artificial Intelligence Held at UFAZ
On April 10, as part of the series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), a scientific panel discussion titled “Computing for the Next Decade: High-Performance, Scalable, and Explainable Intelligence” was held. The event brought together both academic community and experts operating in the field of technology.
Speakers Dr. Ulviya Abdulkarimova, Dr. Ali Khudiyev, and Dr. Yusif Ibrahimov presented in-depth scientific reports on advanced optimization methods, continual learning, and algorithmic explainability. The experts shared their experiences on ensuring the transparency of artificial intelligence models and clarifying the internal mechanisms of complex algorithms – often referred to as “black boxes” through explainable AI.
During the panel session, the fundamental changes created by adaptive architectures and dynamic learning systems in solving complex problems were analyzed. Participants specifically discussed the challenges arising in maintaining the long-term performance of AI models and the new standards of human-machine interaction.
One of the significant highlights of the event was the adaptation of computer science education to modern challenges. The discussions emphasized the necessity of bridging the gap between technological scalability and human-centric transparency, and interesting proposals were put forward for the improvement of university curricula in this direction. Additionally, the latest achievements of PhD researchers working in this field were brought to the attention of the participants.
The event concluded with a Q&A session and a discussion on the perspectives of future joint projects.
