The 18th Meeting of the Academic Committee Held at UFAZ
The 18th meeting of the Academic Committee was held at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ). The meeting was dedicated to evaluating the results of the university’s academic activities, discussing current challenges, and identifying future development directions.
The meeting of the Academic Committee was co-chaired by UFAZ Operations Manager Yannick Hoarau (Unistra) and Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Nigar Adilova. The meeting was attended by ASOIU Rector, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, UFAZ Executive Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, UFAZ Secretary General Martin Godon, Head of the Education Department Samra Shiriyeva, UFAZ Researcher and Lecturer, Associate Professor Dunya Babanly, as well as other members.
During the meeting, the results of the 2025/2026 academic year were presented. The participants reviewed the spring semester and overall academic performance, student life, students’ achievements in continuing their studies at international and local higher education institutions, the admissions process for the 2026/2027 academic year, as well as the accomplishments of the teaching staff.
Within the framework of the academic issues on the agenda, participants exchanged views on further improving the educational process, expanding international cooperation, creating new academic opportunities for students, and developing the university’s educational infrastructure.
The committee members also discussed initiatives aimed at developing the university’s human resources, strengthening its academic capacity, and engaging young researchers in scientific activities.
One of the key topics of discussion was UFAZ’s long-term development prospects. In this context, visions and objectives were presented regarding the strengthening of the university’s research activities, promotion of innovative initiatives, creation of new cooperation opportunities, and further development of an academic environment encompassing different levels of higher education.
The speakers emphasized the importance of expanding UFAZ’s international partnerships, maintaining academic quality standards, and further developing a research-oriented university model.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted on the issues included in the agenda, and priorities for the next period were determined.
