UFAZ Alumna Aynur Naghizada Successfully Defends Her PhD Dissertation

Aynur Naghizada, a graduate of the Master's program in Physical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) and a PhD student at the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The defense of her dissertation entitled “Quantification of Urban Aerosols: Identification of Their Emission Sources, Abundance, and Seasonal Variations” took place on 9 June 2026 at the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), France.

During four years of research activity, Aynur Naghizada conducted studies in the fields of atmospheric chemistry and environmental monitoring. The results of her research have been highly appreciated by the international scientific community, and during this period, two scientific articles authored by her were published in prestigious international scientific journals. In addition, she presented her research findings at two international scientific conferences.

Throughout her doctoral studies, she worked under the supervision of Professors Maurice Millet and Olivier Delhomme.

It should be noted that Aynur Naghizada’s doctoral studies were supported within the framework of the State Program funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
