UFAZ Alumnus Begins Internship as a Geologist in Switzerland

Fuad Ildarov, a 2025 graduate of the Geosciences and Geophysical Engineering program at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), is currently working as an intern geologist within the prestigious CERN Summer Student Programme 2025 in Switzerland.
Selected from nearly 10,000 applicants, Fuad is one of only 140 students granted the opportunity to participate in the program. During the 2-month summer internship, he will work on the Future Circular Collider (FCC) project at CERN, the world's largest particle physics laboratory, located in Geneva.
The FCC project aims to explore the fundamental structure of matter in even greater depth. It may enable the discovery of new particles and forces beyond the Standard Model of physics. In addition to its scientific importance, FCC also plays a key role in advancing high technologies and fostering international collaboration in the fields of geology and physics.
We are confident that this experience will be an invaluable step in Fuad’s academic and professional development.
Following his internship at bp in 2024, Fuad will begin his professional career there as a geologist in September.
