UFAZ Associate Professor Presented Research Findings at an International Conference

Lucas Bofill, a lecturer and Geoscience Associate Professor at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), participated in the 38th International Association of Sedimentologists Meeting held in Spain from June 26 to 28, 2025.

During the conference, he presented his research on how sandstone facies architecture influences solute transport in groundwater systems, specifically in the absence of mudstone layers. His study focused on the Buntsandstein aquifer in eastern France, a key geological formation that not only provides drinking water at shallow depths but also hosts one of Europe’s most promising reserves of lithium dissolved in geothermal brines.

His work offers valuable insight for the sustainable management of groundwater and critical mineral resources.
