UFAZ Delegation Visits ASOIU’s New Laboratories at SABAH.city

A delegation from the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) visited the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Center located at the SABAH.city innovation campus.

The delegation included UFAZ Executive Director Assoc. Prof. Vazeh Asgarov, UFAZ Secretary General Martin Godon, Professor at the University of Strasbourg and UFAZ Program Coordinator Christophe Serra, as well as UFAZ Chemistry Lecturer and Program Coordinator Maxime Florent.

The delegation familiarized itself with the Artificial Intelligence Institute, as well as the Biotechnology, Environmental Monitoring, Prototype Design, Chemoinformatics and Computational Chemistry laboratories operating at the ASOIU Center.

The visitors were provided with detailed information about the laboratories’ main areas of activity, technical and research capabilities, the functionality of their modern equipment, as well as the applied and fundamental research projects planned to be carried out there. The delegation also learned about the planned activities in the laboratories, including analytical and research services tailored to the needs of industrial enterprises, the development of new technological solutions and prototyping.

UFAZ representatives expressed particular interest in the research opportunities available in chemistry, engineering, artificial intelligence and related fields. They also discussed the potential integration of the laboratories into the educational process and opportunities for involving students in practical and research activities.

It should be noted that, within the SABAH.city project, a total of 13 teaching and research laboratories have been established by ASOIU, Baku State University (BSU) and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The modern research infrastructure established at the ASOIU Center will support applied research in the fields of oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy, environmental science, biotechnology, agriculture and other areas, as well as the development of new technological solutions and the training of highly qualified specialists.
