UFAZ Graduate’s Research Article Published in a Q1 Journal

A research paper by Dr. Aynur Naghizada, a graduate of the Master’s program in Physical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), has been published in the prestigious Q1 journal Atmospheric Pollution Research. 

Her article, titled “Seasonal variability and source-related molecular marker profiling of carboxylic acids and phenols in urban PM₁₀,” investigates carboxylic acids and phenolic compounds found in urban PM₁₀ particles. The study examines the seasonal variability and main sources of these compounds. It also explores the atmospheric transformation processes they undergo.

The research investigates the behavior of carboxylic acids and phenolic compounds in the urban atmosphere across different seasons, as well as their source characteristics. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the factors influencing the chemical composition of PM₁₀ particles in the atmosphere and the role of different pollution sources.

Studying the composition and sources of PM₁₀ particles is important for understanding the characteristics of air pollution, assessing air quality, and gaining deeper insights into chemical processes occurring in the atmosphere.
