UFAZ Held an Open Day for Bachelor Programs

The French-Azerbaijani University welcomed prospective students and their parents during the Open Day dedicated to its bachelor programs.

The event began with an opening speech by Latifa Nasibova, Acting Executive Director of UFAZ. Afterwards, a promotional video was presented to the audience to provide an initial introduction to the institution. Visitors interested in studying at UFAZ were visually introduced to the facilities offered within the university, the opportunities for students, research seminars, meetings with professionals, as well as student club activities.

During the presentation on bachelor programs, information about the establishment of UFAZ, its main partners, and its objectives was provided. Scientific potential - specifically the research laboratories of the university, was showcased. The benefits of applying theoretical knowledge in practice for students were discussed.

Following that, an overview of the 2024–2025 academic year was provided. The advantages of studying at UFAZ - such as the double diploma, tuition-free education, summer schools in Europe, field trips, and opportunities to meet with industry professionals and researchers - were highlighted.

Detailed information was presented about the five bachelor programs offered at UFAZ: Computer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, and Geology and Geophysics Engineering. The knowledge and skills students will gain in these fields, as well as potential career opportunities, were discussed. Admission procedures and UFAZ’s internal exam were also explained.

In the next part of the event, current UFAZ bachelor students took the stage. Zahra Rahimova, a second-year student in Geology and Geophysics Engineering and President of the Student Council, and Anar Eyvazzada, a third-year student in Computer Science and Vice-President of the Student Council, shared their experiences and impressions of studying at UFAZ.

During the Q&A session, guests raised questions regarding academic activities, programs, and the admission process. Samra Shiriyeva, Deputy Head of the Education Department, and Rukhsara Yarmetova, Bachelor Programs Coordinator, provided comprehensive answers.

Another highlight of the Open Day was a tour of UFAZ’s six-floor scientific laboratories built to European standards. Visitors had the opportunity to observe the technical infrastructure, practical lessons conducted by French and local specialists, and ongoing experiments. Maxime Florent, Chemistry Department Coordinator, introduced students to the chemistry labs; Arzu Aliyeva, Geophysics Program Coordinator, to the physics labs; and Fidan Aslanzada, Oil and Gas Program Coordinator, to the IT labs.

The event was marked by delivering comprehensive information to those interested in the academic process at UFAZ.
