UFAZ Hosts Open Day Dedicated to Undergraduate Programs
The French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) hosted an Open Day dedicated to its undergraduate programs, welcoming prospective students and their parents interested in studying at UFAZ.
During the event, UFAZ Executive Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov addressed the audience and spoke about the university’s mission, educational approach, and major achievements as UFAZ celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The event continued with a presentation introducing the establishment of UFAZ, its key partners, and main objectives. Special attention was given to the university’s strong research potential, as well as the advantages of practice, project, and research-based education. Participants also received detailed information about the admission and registration process for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In the next part of the event, current students and alumni shared their experiences with the audience. Alamdar Dashdamirov, a graduate of the Geology and Geophysical Engineering program and currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford, spoke about his academic journey, the knowledge he gained during his studies, and his experience in the international scientific community. Meanwhile, Madina Jafarzade, a student majoring in Petroleum Engineering & Reservoir Geology, introduced participants to student life at UFAZ, extracurricular activities, and the university’s practice-oriented courses.
During the Q&A session, guests raised questions related to academic life, undergraduate programs, and the admission process. Executive Director Vazeh Asgarov and Head of the Education Department Samra Shiriyeva provided comprehensive answers to the participants’ questions.
Later, members of the UFAZ Student Council – Gunay Ashrafova and Nadir Azizov delivered a presentation about student engagement, social activities, and maintaining close communication between students and the university management. They also organized interactive games and presented gifts to participants.
One of the highlights of the event was a guided tour of UFAZ’s six-floor teaching laboratories, designed according to European standards. Under the guidance of laboratory staff, guests were introduced to the university’s technical facilities and gained detailed insight into its practical learning environment.
