UFAZ Researchers’ Article Published in a Q1-Ranked Scientific Journal
An article entitled “MnTe–SnTe–Bi₂Te₃ pseudo-ternary system: Solid-phase equilibria diagram and magnetic properties of the Mn₀.₅₅Sn₀.₄₅Bi₁₀Te₁₆ and Mn₀.₅₅Sn₀.₄₅Bi₁₂Te₁₉ compounds”, co-authored by researchers from the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), has been published in the prestigious Q1-ranked journal Materials Chemistry and Physics by Elsevier.
The research was carried out through the joint efforts of UFAZ researcher and associate professor Dunya Babanly, physics lecturer Professor Alihuseyn Dovlatov, UFAZ PhD student Elnur Safarov, and ASOIU researcher Elnur Orujlu. The study is dedicated to the investigation of new magnetic topological insulator phases.
Within the framework of the research, solid-phase equilibria in the MnTe–SnTe–Bi₂Te₃ quasi-ternary system were investigated for the first time using X-ray phase analysis and SEM-EDS methods, and an isothermal section at 500°C was constructed. As a result of the study, several new substitutional solid-solution series and wide homogeneity regions of various compounds were identified.
It should be noted that the obtained results are of significant scientific importance for the targeted control of magnetic and topological properties in layered telluride materials and aim to contribute to the development of future spintronics technologies.
