UFAZ Student Awarded First Place at ASPG Conference
Nuru Gasimov, student of the Petroleum Engineering & Reservoir Geology program at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), won first place for his scientific research presented at the ASPG Conference.
At the conference, Nuru Gasimov presented his study on the transformation of goethite into lepidocrocite in sedimentary systems and its implications for the preservation of organic matter. The research analyzes how mineral transformations in iron oxyhydroxides affect the retention or release of organic matter, a process that plays a crucial role in the efficiency of petroleum systems and the assessment of hydrocarbon potential.
The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Elshan Abdullayev, and all experimental work was carried out in the teaching laboratories of UFAZ.
We congratulate Nuru Gasimov on this achievement and wish him continued success in his future research endeavors.
