UFAZ Student Participated in an International Training Program on Water Resources Management in China

Jeyhun Zakaryali, a student of the Water Resources and Management master's program at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), participated in the international training program entitled “Seminar on Water Resources Management for Azerbaijan”, which was held in the People's Republic of China from May 12 to 25.

As part of the program, participants attended lectures on water governance, water resources planning and implementation, integrated water environment restoration technologies, pipeline leakage management, municipal wastewater treatment and reuse, the application of artificial intelligence in hydraulic engineering, as well as the design of automated hydrological monitoring and reporting systems.

Jeyhun Zakaryali delivered speeches at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the program, representing Azerbaijan and UFAZ. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of efficient water resources management, the role of international cooperation, and the prospects for applying the knowledge gained in Azerbaijan.

The program also included a number of technical visits. Participants visited PowerChina Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited, the Wenzhou Oujiang River Water Diversion Project, the Kun’ao Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Shaoshan Irrigation District, where they had the opportunity to observe advanced Chinese technologies and practices in water management, wastewater treatment, water diversion, irrigation systems, and modern hydraulic infrastructure.

The training program provided participants with an opportunity to expand their knowledge of contemporary approaches and technologies in the field of water resources management.
