UFAZ Student Participated in International Robotics Competition in Japan
Azerbaijani teams successfully competed in the All Japan Robot Sumo Tournament Grand Final 2025, held in Tokyo, Japan, on December 6-7. The teams consisted of winners of the AIRO 2025 competition and participated with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Fidan Allahverdiyeva, a student of the Computer Science program at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), was among the winners and represented the country on the international stage. She competed as a member of the AD-ASTRA team in the Mega Sumo 3 kg Auto category. The team successfully advanced through the initial rounds among 113 competing teams and reached the 1/16 finals.
Fidan and her team were highly praised by the judges for their robot’s technical design, mechanical stability, sensor accuracy, and overall battle strategy. Team members also met with the organizers of the All Japan Robot Sumo Tournament to discuss opportunities for international cooperation, knowledge exchange in robotics, and potential future projects.
This trip was not only a competition experience for Fidan Allahverdiyeva but also an important opportunity to establish international connections, learn new technologies, and explore innovative strategies. We warmly congratulate the UFAZ student on this remarkable achievement.
