UFAZ Students Participate in International Summer School on “Mud Volcanoes and Fluid Migration Systems”

On August 25–29, the 5th International Summer School on “Mud Volcanoes and Fluid Migration Systems” was held. The opening and closing ceremonies of the summer school took place at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ).

A total of 13 students from UFAZ participated in the summer school.

The event was organized by the Oil and Gas Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the University of Oslo in Norway, with organizational support from GeoNet LLC. The project was also supported by SOCAR, the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and the Research Council of Norway.

The main goal of the summer school was to enhance young researchers’ knowledge in the fields of mud volcanism, fluid migration systems, and petroleum systems, as well as to expand scientific collaborations. The program included lectures, poster presentations, and field trips to mud volcanoes on the Absheron Peninsula and to Yanardag.
