UFAZ Students Won 3rd Place at the 6th International Student Research and Science Conferences!

UFAZ students have proudly achieved 3rd place in the “Towards Sustainable Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” section of the 6th International Student Research and Science Conferences, organized by Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) and dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The conference covered three main themes on “Towards Sustainable Chemistry and Chemical Engineering”, INFOTECH 2025 and “Petroleum Geoscience and Engineering”. UFAZ students Aliya Kurmayeva and Sara Malik-Aslanova participated in the “Towards Sustainable Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” section with their research project titled “Development of a Sustainable Hybrid Catalyst NaOH/CaO Derived from Eggshell Waste for Biodiesel Production.” Their project stood out among 65 submissions in a conference where Master’s and PhD students made up the majority of participants. At the conference, where only 12 projects were awarded, the research work by Aliya Kurmayeva and Sara Malik-Aslanova attracted significant interest.

Now in its sixth year, the conference aims to stimulate scientific activity among students and young researchers while providing a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences. This year, 300 applications were accepted to the conference. Alongside local participants, representatives from 12 countries, including the USA, UK, Portugal, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Uzbekistan, presented their research.

In a conference marked by strong international participation, the outstanding achievement of UFAZ students is especially commendable.
