UFAZ will Hold a Research Seminar on 21st-Century Artificial Intelligence Ethics

The French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) will host an international scientific seminar dedicated to the future of artificial intelligence and human relations. The event, titled “Humanity and Artificial Intelligence: A New Ethics for the 21st Century”, will take place on October 10, 2025, at 16:15 in Room 102 of the university.
The seminar speaker will be Professor Igor Peretta, a computer scientist and engineer from the Faculty of Computer Engineering at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Brazil.
Prof. Peretta holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Brazil and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Strasbourg, France. His research covers artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computation, and quantum technologies. Currently, he conducts international research on explainable AI and the philosophical implications of artificial intelligence.
Igor Peretta worked as a permanent teacher during the 2019/2020 academic year at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ). He has also participated in postdoctoral research at UFAZ and collaborated with the University of Strasbourg. Currently, he serves as an invited teacher at UFAZ.
The seminar will focus on the role of AI not only as a technological tool but also as a new actor in global ethical discussions. The presentation will address the transition from traditional ethical systems to the era of new technologies, as well as the emerging challenges for education and society.
Participation in the seminar is free of charge, but registration is required.
