On November 30-December 5, 2018 UFAZ third-year Computer Science students took part in the International Collegiate Programming Contest - an extra-curricular, competitive programming sport for student around the world, held in Tbilisi (Georgia).
Two teams represented UFAZ in this competition accompanied by a professor from UFAZ Computer Science Faculty. Having been awarded with a third-level certificate in the local contest held in Azerbaijan, UFAZ teams left for Georgia to take part in the regional contest, where ten other universities also represented Azerbaijan.
In general, 261 teams took part in the competition and fifteen teams made it to world finals that will be held in April 2019.
The ICPC traces its roots back to 1970. It was created as an innovative program to increase ambition, problem-solving aptitude, and opportunities of the strongest students in the field of computing.
