UFAZ Students to Participate in Field Camp in Sweden

Members of the SEG Student Chapter at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University have been selected to take part in an international geophysical field camp in Sweden. Among the selected participants are Madina Jafarzade, a student of Oil and Gas Engineering and Kamila Rahimova, who studies Geosciences and Geophysical Engineering at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ).

The field camp, organized by the Uppsala University Geophysical Society SEG Student Chapter, will take place along the Göta River near the town of Trollhättan, a region marked by numerous landslide scars. The main objective of the camp is to train participants in modern geophysical survey methods and deepen their understanding of the dynamics of quick clay and landslide-prone areas.

The program brings together bachelor's, master's, and PhD students, as well as early-career professionals in geology and engineering. It includes hands-on fieldwork, data interpretation, and final presentations of findings. Participants will be awarded certificates upon completion.
