On October 26, the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) hosted the Regional Selection Round of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), bringing together talented young programmers.

During the intensive 5-hour competition, 24 teams representing UFAZ, each consisting of three members, put their skills to the test. Students worked on complex algorithmic problems using only one computer per team, showcasing both their knowledge and problem-solving abilities. This collaborative effort tested not only the teams’ technical skills but also their ability to work together under pressure.

As one of the world’s most prestigious programming competitions, ICPC encourages students to apply analytical thinking, creativity, and coding skills to real algorithmic

challenges. The contest provides a unique platform for students to demonstrate their abilities, develop critical thinking, and connect with the global programming community.

During the competition, UFAZ students displayed exceptional coding, strategic planning, and teamwork skills. Based on the results, the five highest-scoring teams from UFAZ earned the opportunity to advance to the next stage – the quarterfinals at Baku Engineering University, bringing them one step closer to the international level of the contest.

We congratulate our students and wish them even greater success in the upcoming rounds!
