UFAZ and ASOIU students won the "NASA Space Apps Challenge" hackathon!

The "NASA Space Apps Challenge" Hackathon, held by the Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy (AREA) at the "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center, with the support of the "Innovations Center" of the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has ended.

The goal of the hackathon is to create open source solutions on topics of global priority, to stimulate interest in scientific research in relevant fields, and to promote the growth and diversity of a new generation of scientists, technologists, designers and engineers.

On October 7-8, In the competition, 23 teams selected from 690 applicants solved the tasks in the directions of climate control, educational technologies, fire control, virtual and augmented reality, social projects, which are the main topics of the hackathon, within 36 hours.

At the closing event, the prototypes made by the teams were evaluated by the jury. Solutions that differ in their originality, concepts, ingenuity, creative problem solving and non-standard thinking secured the first 3 places.

We are proud to announce that UFAZ and ASOIU students won all 3 prizes in the competition. The "Optimum" team - Yusi Askari, Aziz Zeynalli, Sayyara Hasanova (UFAZ) and Sahib Rzayev (BANM) won the 1st place, Oruj Bayramov (UFAZ) and 3 other ADA students won the 2nd place with the "Proxima" team and "PlatonTech" team of students Farid Shikhiyev, Murad Samadov (ASSU), Rufat Shikhiyev and Gabil Huseynli (Technical University) won the 3rd place.

The winning teams across the country will compete with the winners of hackathons held in 350 cities around the world.
