UFAZ Chess Club Organized New Year Inter-University Chess Tournament

On December 21 UFAZ Chess Club successfully organized a New Year Inter-University Chess Tournament, bringing together students from several universities in a friendly yet competitive environment.

The tournament gathered 80 participants representing UFAZ, ASOIU, UNEC, Ganja State Agrarian University, and the Azerbaijan Medical University (foreign students). In addition, one Azerbaijani participant joined the competition from the University of Prague, adding an international dimension to the event. Among all participants, five players were female.

The nine-round tournament was held in a vibrant and dynamic setting. Alongside challenging chess matches, participants also had the chance to interact and connect with students representing various universities.

At the end of the tournament, Elchin Agayev claimed first place, followed by Shamil Mammadov in second place and Tural Mammadzade in third place.

The winners were awarded certificates, medals, and UFAZ-branded gifts in recognition of their achievements. In addition, the players who placed 4th and 5th also received small prizes.
