On September 26, UFAZ hosted an Ecological Symposium titled "Exploring Sustainable Solutions for the Climate Change Problem." The event aimed to unite a diverse audience, including environmental experts, students, media representatives, faculty members, industry professionals, and environmentally conscious members of the public. Its primary goals were to raise awareness of pressing environmental issues, promote dialogue between experts and the community on sustainable practices, and explore actionable solutions that can be applied both locally and globally.

The symposium also focused on addressing current environmental challenges and expressing support for the upcoming COP29 conference, set to take place in Azerbaijan.

The program featured a dynamic panel discussion on four key topics:

  • Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment
  • Sustainable Development: SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action)
  • Environmentally Friendly Waste Management Systems and Technologies
  • Vocational Education: Developing Green Skills for the Future

The event encouraged meaningful collaboration and dialogue, aiming to inspire both individual and collective actions toward creating a more sustainable future.

The symposium was moderated by Tural Maharramov, a lecturer in the Dual Degree MSc Programme on Renewable Energy between ASOIU and Warwick University. Panelists included Etibar Gahramanov, an environmental and renewable energy specialist at AZGREEN, and Orkhan Karimzada, also a lecturer in the same Renewable Energy MSc program. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing attendees to deepen their understanding and exchange ideas on the critical topics discussed.
