UFAZ Students Secured First Place at GreenTech ClimAccelerator Azerbaijan 2024 within COP29

UFAZ students Elgun Hasanov and Emin Khalifayev, representing the Codage team, clinched first place at the GreenTech ClimAccelerator Azerbaijan 2024. Their groundbreaking project, Ecoffin, earned them the prestigious honor of representing Azerbaijan on an international stage in the UAE.

Ecoffin is revolutionizing the paraffin industry with sustainable innovation. Utilizing patented catalysis and ultrasonic wave treatments, Ecoffin reduces CO2 emissions by 27%, providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional paraffin products. The project introduces two groundbreaking paraffin-based innovations:

Ecoffin Rocket Fuel – Designed for hybrid rocket engines, this product boasts high energy density and superior combustion properties, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional rocket fuels.

Ecoffin AgroProtect (P1 Grade) – A paraffin oil serving as an effective pesticide to control pests like aphids, mites, and whiteflies. With its high purity and low phytotoxicity, it is ideal for sustainable agricultural practices.

The CODAGE team’s commitment to sustainability has been recognized previously. They won the Green Hackathon by Sabah Hub in April 2024 and showcased Ecoffin at the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition, Caspian Agro.

This remarkable achievement at GreenTech ClimAccelerator Azerbaijan 2024 was part of COP29 Azerbaijan, organized by esteemed institutions such as the EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology, ClimAccelerator Climate-KIC, and New Space Innovation.
