Research areas

Currently, Computer Science Research Department works on three main areas

• Evolutionary Algorithms
  Evolutionary algorithms are optimization techniques inspired by Darwin’s theory of biological evolution, described in his famous book On the Origin of Species, 1859.
• Machine Learning and Data Mining
  This research domain delves into the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence in various sectors, focusing on medical diagnosis, road quality and complex network analysis.
• Knowledge Graphs and Semantics
  This topic deals with semantic data modeling techniques or semantic networks, represented with knowledge graphs, that are used to describe knowledge for a certain domain, where vertices denote concepts or entities in the world and their properties, and the arcs denote relationships between them.
