The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science testifies to the central position of mathematics within the University of Strasbourg and to the development of information science. It offers courses in mathematics and computer science at all levels within the university.

Computer scientists change the world by designing, building and deploying innovative solutions to real-world problems. A computer science education will give you a solid grounding in logic, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Through your elective choices, you can choose to specialize in databases/data mining, networking, and systems, artificial intelligence, security, or software engineering.  

What are my professional opportunities?

You can work in different fields from DNA Biology - Sequencing the human genome to Medicine - Mining data to Entertainment - Creating games, movies, music. You can also try yourself in the health and engineering sector. Software Engineer is consistently rated as one of the top jobs. Your degree can earn you much demanded positions like Application Developer, Technical Marketer, System Analyst and Project Manager. Computing is part of everything we do. Expertise in computing enables you to solve complex, challenging problems. Computing drives innovation in the sciences, engineering, and business. Computer science is challenging and yet dynamic. It requires people in the field to be keep learning and pushing the limit.

Students will receive diploma on Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from both Strasbourg University and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University upon their graduation.
